Horses Boarding

Spruce Meadow Farm offers full care horse boarding. Horses boarding includes:

  • Feeding & watering 3 times/day.  AM & PM feedings include grain, hay & water. Lunch feeding includes hay & water
  • Daily turnout
  • Blanketing when necessary
  • Holding for vet & blacksmith

Horses Lease

At Spruce Meadow Farm we offer several types of horses lease programs. Leasing offers the benefits of:

  • Getting a taste of owning your own horse without the initial purchase or long term commitment.
  • Reserving your “special” horse for when you want to come out to spend time with them & ride.
  • Gives you “first dibs” on your horse for horse shows & clinics.
  • Horses leasing eliminates hacking & horse use fees for shows or clinics.

Types Of Horses Lease Options

Full leases are available September  1st through June 30th. Full horses lease fees are $650 per month. This includes board and full & exclusive use of the horse.

Leaser responsibilities include

  • Pay for Vet, Farrier, and De-worming
  • Clean any SMF owned bridle, girth, martingale, boots used on a per ride basis and saddle on a weekly basis.
  • Must take at least 4 lessons per month at additional cost

SMF responsibilities include:

  • Daily stall care & turnout
  • Horse must have at least one day off per week.

Half leases are available year round. Half lease fees are $280 per month or $75 by the week.

Leaser responsibilities include:

  • Clean any SMF owned bridle, girth, martingale, boots used on a per ride basis and saddle on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Must take at least 2 lessons per month at additional cost

SMF responsibilities include:

  • Daily stall care & turnout
  • Farrier, De-Worming & Vet care
  • Leaser may ride horse 3 days per week and has first call on that horse for shows and clinics and is entitled to ride the horse in their lessons….when a horse is leased there are no horse use fees for shows.
  • If any leased horse becomes unrideable, leaser may use an alternate horse.
  • SMF owners must approve all Veterinary and Farrier care decisions on leased horses.
  • SMF owners must approve all-off site events and shipping arrangements.
  • Work-to-lease options are available. All work done toward lease fees must be documented and approved by management.

We also offer Open Half Leasing. An open half horses lease costs $200 per month or $60 by the week.

An open horses lease is not for any particular horse…you would ride a horse that is “open/available” when you come out to ride.

Farrier and De-Worming is included in an open lease.

An open horses lease eliminates horse use fees at horse shows or clinics.

-is not a lease on any one particular horse
