What Are Pony Parties?

Pony parties are very popular for children’s birthdays, reunions, events and company or group picnics.

We offer pony parties either at your location or here at Spruce Meadow Farm. Depending on how many people are attending your event you may want one or two ponies.

Pony Parties At Your Location

If you choose to have pony rides at your location we can bring either one or two ponies. Ponies come in in various sizes from very small to the size of a small horse.

For pony parties with riders of various ages we recommend either requesting a medium to large pony, or two ponies; one small and one large. This decision would also be based on the number of riders attending the event.

The pony/ponies will arrive at the specified time along with a “walker” for the pony. We use a two-horse trailer to ship to pony parties and will need room to park (on the street is generally fine) and to turn around or proceed around the block upon leaving.

There also needs to be a place to walk for the pony rides. This can either be on the lawn, in a parking lot or other fairly large area.

Pony parties are fun year round!

Price for Pony Parties at your location;

• One pony: $180 for 1 hour for distances up to 15 mi. from the farm, 15-30 mi. is an additional $25. Each additional 1/2 hour is $60.
• Two ponies: $175 per pony for 1 hour for distances up to 15 mi. from the farm, 15-30 mi. is an additional $25. Each 1/2 hour is an additional $125.

Pony Parties At The Farm

If you would like to have your party hosted at the farm we can accommodate groups of all sizes! Pony parties at the farm are a popular choice because they can eliminate set-up and clean-up at home.

We have picnic tables on the lawn and you are welcome to bring cake and/or pizza, etc. and make yourselves “at home”.

There are a couple of options for pony parties here at Spruce Meadow Farm.

• The first option is traditional pony rides.

We will have the pony/ponies available for an hour for rides and riders can ride as many times as they want during the hour.

Riding lesson parties are lots of fun!

The cost for this type of  party is $15 per child with a $75 minimum charge. We would use 1 pony for up to 20 riders and 2 ponies for over 20 riders.

• The second option is a Riding Lesson Party.

When riding lesson pony parties are chosen we teach the riders how to groom, saddle and bridle and then begin the riding lessons. Depending on the number of participants we use anywhere from 3-5 ponies/horses.

The riding lessons last for 30 minutes and there are usually two to three groups that ride during this type of pony parties, again depending on the total number of riders.

If you schedule a riding lesson party make sure to allow about two hours of time. Appropriate attire for a riding lesson includes long pants and a shoe or boot with a small heel.

ASTM approved equestrian helmets are also required but are provided by the farm. You are welcome to bring your own if you have one.

The cost for riding lesson pony parties is $35 per rider.

When Are Pony Parties Available?

Pony parties are available year round. We are available 7 days/week. For the best chance at getting the day and time you are looking for it is best to try to schedule a couple of weeks in advance. Sometimes we can be available on short notice…it’s always worth a try!
